Our client in Albert Park was in need of a functional outdoor space in their small rear yard that they could enjoy year round.
As you can see from the before photos the yard was mostly a concrete slab which we had to remove before work could get to work on this amazing transformation.
Once the concrete was gone, we set to work with a new rear fence which was built with an access gate to the rear laneway. We used corrugated iron on the outside with radial silver top ash 53×23 batons lining the inside wall, finished with a gorgeous ebony stain.
Next came these stunning Sawn Bluestone pavers 600 x 300mm laid in a heringbone pattern with 800 x 400mm pavers used for the surrounding border.
Now for the perfect place to sit and enjoy what is about to unfold. We created this constructed seating which had a face of 50 x 50mm rough sawn cypress batons and capped in 145 x 21mm earthy cumaru decking boards. The batons were then painted in Japan black and the camaru remained in it’s natural beauty.
And what outdoor area in Melbourne would be complete without a BBQ area. This beauty was constructed with a face of 50 x 50mm rough sawn cypress batons, with a beautiful bluestone bench top.
To finish off this landscaping project an established Magnolia was planted in the rear eastern corner with underplanting of Arthropodiums and mini mondo grass.
The seated planter bed garden features Osmanthus fragrans at the rear with ligularia reniformis, osmanthus fragans, liriope muscari and loropetalum chinensis.
